In accordance with the results of researches performed by TÜV Rheinland Services lab the total group of 18 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) doesn’t exceed 509 mg/kg, and the average is 212 mg/kg. Total group of 8 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons listed in the Annex to Directive 2005/69/EC doesn’t exceed 20,2 mg/kg and benzo[a]pyrene (BaP, CAS#50-32-8) content’s average is 1,8 mg/kg.

N o t e – Some grades of carbon black conform to more strict requirements. Don’t hesitate to define it contacting with the Only representative if necessary.

In accordance with results of researches performed by NOTOX B.V. lab the individual content of heavy metals such as antimony (Sb), barium (Ba), cadmium (Cd), cobalt (Co), copper (Cu), lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), selenium (Se) doesn’t exceed 1 ppm, and arsenic (As), chrome (Cr), nickel (Ni) does not exceed 10 ppm.

In accordance with the results of carbon black tests performed by NOTOX B.V. lab under the methods mentioned in Directive 2007/19/EC:

  • toluene extractables are not above 0,1%;
  • UV absorption of cyclohexane extract at 386 nm for a 5cm cuvette is not above 0,01AU.

Carbon black conforms to BfR (IX) recommendations because content of the following individual substances soluble in 0,1N hydrochloric acid doesn’t exceed 1ppm (0,0001 %) (in accordance with the results of NOTOX B.V. lab): lead, arsenic, mercury, selenium, barium, chromium, cadmium, antimony.

Technological process and used feedstock gives no chance at aromatic amines formation that makes the product entirely free from their presence.

If you concerned about FDA direct food contact requirements, please be aware that product of OOO "Omsktechuglerod" LLC hasn't been specially tested for safety in food though we haven't any data about carbon black’s adverse effects after ingestion. However the formulated articles (coatings) need to be tested to make a decision about usage.

Be note that Carbon black of any manufacturers contains the trace quantities of Anthracene (CAS#120-12-7, EC#204-371-1) as a residual part of raw material. This substance is included to SVHC Candidate list (updated on 20/06/2011 by EChA).

Techuglerod Kft had performed tests of product of our Manufacturer in TUV Rheinland lab. Accordingly with the lab's report the anthracene's content doesn't exceed 0.9mg/kg (≤0.9ppm) in Omsktechuglerod's product.

Any other substances included to date to EChA's SVHC Candidate list are absent in Carbon black.
